The Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco was founded by Royal Dahir-Constituting-Law Number 1.77.229 of 24 Shawwal 1397 H (October 8, 1977). The Academy is a public institution with legal and financial autonomy. It is multidisciplinary establishment with a diverse membership belonging to different nationalities.
The Academy comprises 60 members of whom 30 are “Resident Members” of Moroccan nationality and 30 “Associate Members” of other nationalities.
